In this step, you can display the PC operations that are available. You display international operations using country grouping '99', and country-specific operations using country-specific groupings.
Within processing control, operations represent the steps involved in a processing schedule. Each operation is linked to a subroutine (form routine) of the relevant processing schedule; the subroutine calculates the values. The name of the form routine is determined according to the following pattern:
OP_mm_tt_oo
- mm: country grouping
- tt: subapplication (always PF)
- oo: two-character operation code
The form routine field still exists to ensure compatibility with older versions of the PC interpreter.
Parameters and conditions determine how a PC operation is used:
- Parameters
Each operation has up to 10 parameters that can be used to control field help and consistency checks.
- Conditions
Conditions enable you to process the results of an operation.
The standard system contains sample PC operations that cover most of your requirements. This means you can copy them without making any changes. Note that the operations delivered with the standard system are stored in a system table and therefore cannot be changed.
You can use operation S7 for your own developments. This operation may call user exit 001 of enhancement PFyy0001 (yy = country grouping), which you can modify using transaction CMOD. For compatibility reasons, operation S3 (which calls user exit 001 of enhancement PK020001) still exists for customer developments. You should not use this operation for new developments any longer because any required country-specific and international changes must be made using operation S7 in future.
Activities
To define the message for a condition of an operation:
- Choose Messages for Operation Conditions. Enter the required operation.
- Select the condition (other than zero) and go to the corresponding detail screen by double-clicking or choosing Details.
- Determine the message type and message number to be generated by the condition.
Note that the default application area of the current processing context is the prerequisite application area. In the standard system, it is 5C. Within this application area, message numbers as of 900 are reserved for customers.
Note that you can remove messages, but that they are reinstated by a release upgrade. This is not the case if messages are changed or extended.
- Choose Save.
