This step enables you to determine the period in which the new pension fund component is implemented.
This has the following effects:
- Payroll
Schema CHPK queries whether the new PF is in use. The end of the payroll period determines the answer to this question. If the new PF is used, payroll function CHPK is called. If not, personnel calculation rule CHVJ, which is part of the old pension fund component, is called instead.
Note that personnel calculation rule CHVJ is no longer maintained as of January 1, 2003. - Fast entry action
If the date of the action is in the period specified for the new PF, the Fund and Entry date fields of infotype 0278 Pension Fund Basic Data are displayed on the user interface. Otherwise, the fields belonging to infotype 0046 Company Pension Fund CH, which is assigned to the old PF component, are displayed instead.
Activities
To activate the pension fund, call the activity and define the validity period for subapplication PK01.
Example
If you want to implement the pension fund on January 1, 2000, enter January 1, 2000 as the start date and December 31, 9999 as the end date.
