This step contains the following single steps:
Specify locking service
Resources such as rooms can be locked for reservation, which means that other users cannot reserve them. When you lock a resource, a relationship is created between the resource and a service. For information on setting up services, see the step Create service.
You can only specify one service for locking resources.
In this step, you specify the object ID of the locking service.
Specify business event type
There is one single object of type 'D' (business event type) for all reservations. When a room is booked or reserved, in other words, when an object of type 'E' (business event) is created, the SAP System automatically creates a relationship between the room reservation (object type E) and the business event type (object type D).
In this step, you specify the object ID of this initial business event type.
Specify resource type
Similarly, there is one single object of type 'R' (resource type) for all resources. This resource type is used internally as a parameter when a report is requested for "Available rooms" or "Reserved rooms", for example.
You specify the object ID of this initial resource type here.
When you first create a resource, the system automatically creates a
resource type with this object ID.
Specify allowed object types for company and organizer types
In this step, you specify what object types are displayed on the reservations initial screen as default values for attendee and organizer.
Note
You specify what object types are generally allowed for attendees and organizers in Customizing in the step Allowed Attendee/Organizer Types.
Standard settings
In the standard system, the initial business event type has the object ID 10000000, and the initial resource type has the object ID 00000001.
No object ID has been maintained for the locking service.
The default value for organizer is the object type P 'Employee' and for attendees the object type O 'Organizational unit'.
Recommendation
You should use the standard settings for the initial business event type and initial resource type. No activities are required in this case.
If you want to use the locking resource, you must create a service for the locking service and transfer the object ID of the entry "SEMIN ENQVE".
Activities
- Check the standard settings.
- If required, change the default entries for object IDs in the fields "RAUM RKURS", "SEMIN RAUM", "SEMIN FIROT" and "SEMIN SAPOT" and where relevant, enter a service in the "SEMIN ENQVE" field.
Further notes
For more information, refer to the documentation on the field entries Semantic group and Semantic abbreviation.
