In this step you generate your own wage type for determining the salary total. You do this by copying the model wage type, CSAL, which is in the SAP system already.
You use the copied wage type for all further activities, and can modify it to fit your requirements.

Requirements
Standard settings
The model wage type for determining the salary total in the standard system is CSAL.
Recommendation
Only use the reserved range for your own copied wage types (all wage types that start with a number). Do not copy your wage types to the range for the SAP model wage types (all wage types starting with a letter or special character).
Activities
- Generate your copy wage type for determining the salary total by copying the wage type catalog.

Further notes
The settings you make in this step have no effect on the significance of the wage type for Payroll.
