In this step you determine which type of remuneration applies if there is no Planned Compensation infotype (1005) for an employee. The remuneration type determines the tables from which pay scales are read.

The Planned Compensation infotype (1005) uses the pay scale structures to create data on planned compensation for jobs and positions. The system uses the data stored to provide default values based on the salary or pay scale data for the employee's job or position.

If there is a Planned Compensation infotype (1005) for the employee, the remuneration type is taken from the Planned Compensation infotype (1005). If there is no Planned Compensation infotype (1005), the remuneration type is set to the value T. If you want the remuneration type to be assigned the value S (salary), you must maintain the return value of feature TARIF accordingly. The remuneration type must have the value S if you want to validate the salary total against the salary range regardless of whether or not there is a Planned Compensation infotype (1005).

Example

Requirements

If you want to validate against the salary range (remuneration type S), you must carry out the following activities first:

  1. Create a pay scale type in the Check Pay Scale Type step
  2. Create a pay scale area in the Check Pay Scale Area step
  3. Create a salary structure for the pay scale type and pay scale area in the Define Pay Scale Groups and Levels step

Standard settings

In the standard system, the decision tree for feature TARIF is defined so that the remuneration type is taken from the Planned Compensation infotype (1005) when a new record is created for the Basic Pay infotype (0008). If there is no Planned Compensation infotype (1005), the remuneration type is set to the value T.

Recommendation

Modify feature TARIF as you require. To do this, see the documentation on feature TARIF.
