In this step, you create your user-specific wage types by copying the prototypes that you created in the previous steps. If you did not use the prototype wage types to to create your wage types, you can skip this step.
To do this, you copy a prototype to all the wage types that should have the same characteristics.
Note
- If you have implemented the Payroll component, do not copy the prototypes in this step. Work through the steps in the Payroll implementation guide that deal with the coding of wage types with regard to how they behave in payroll. Only copy your prototypes once you have entered all the specifications and characteristics that are relevant for payroll.
- For information on how to create customer-specific wage types using prototypes or by copying SAP model wage type catalogs, see the sections "Create wage types using prototypes" and "Create wage types using wage type catalogs".
Caution
Only use the area reserved for your copied wage types (all wage types that begin with a number). Do not copy your wage types to the area reserved for SAP model wage types (those that begin with a letter or a symbol).
Activities
To create user-specific wage types for a work area by copying the relevant prototype, proceed as follow:
- Enter the prototype wage type key in the OWtype field.
- Choose Duplicate a wage type. You branch into the wage type maintenance dialog window.
- Enter the key of the first wage type to be copied.
- Enter how many wage types should be created.
- Enter how the additional wage types should be numbered, meaning the number intervals.
- Modify the long and short texts of the copied wage types to meet your requirements.
- Choose Select all.
- If you want to run a test run, select Test.
- Choose Copy wage types.
- Check the subsequent list to see that all the wage types that you wanted to copy have been recorded and that they were copied to the correct wage type area. If this is the case, choose Copy wage types.
- The wage types are now copied. A list is created which logs the changes made to all the relevant tables.
