Some countries or branches (German civil service) require additional fields that are not relevant for other countries or branches.
These additional fields are stored in individual infotype tables that are always maintained with the standard infotype fields.
The user continues to work with the standard infotype, but a different dialogue module is processed.
Here were are referring to 'Infotype views'.
In step 'Set up infotypes', the additional infotype is flagged with a 'Z'.
Additional infotypes are always edited with the standard infotypes. These additional infotypes inherit the standard infotypes' attributes but they cannot develop their own histories.
To ensure that this is the case, the employee is assigned an 'infotype view indicator' in the infotype 'Payroll Status' (0003) when hired. This indicatore cannot be changed.
This view indicator is determined in the feature IVWID.
A view is assigned to the standard infotype using this view indicator.
Example
- The country version for the Netherlands needs numerous additional fields in the infotype Family/Related Persons (0021), so that data on private health insurance for family members covered can also be stored. These fields are maintained using the infotype view Family NL (0264).
- The German civil service needs additional fields in the infotype 'Organizational Assignment' (0001) and 'Basic Pay' (0008), these are also maintained using views.
Requirements
Standard settings
SAP delivers infotype vies for several chosen infotypes - especially for those of relevance to the German civil service.
Recommendation
Activities
Do not create any of your own infotype views.
Do not change the settings for assigning infotypes and views.
Adapt the feature 'Infotype View Indicator' (IVWID). You only need to do this, if the assignment depends on the personnel area, employee group or subgroup.
Example: Define all the employee subgroups that belong to the German civil service.
Please note that you are not allowed to change this indicator for an employee. As a result, an employee cannot change employee subgroup if this would result in a change in view indicator.
If you create the feature subsequently or if you want to use this function for an existing employee, you must run a program that will initialize the view indicator in the infotype 'Payroll Status' (0003) and make the entries in the respective additional infotypes.
For standard infotype views you can use the program delivered by SAP.
