In this step, you set up the communication types that you require.
In the infotype Communication (0105), you can store your employee's user name.
An employee's user name is only valid for a particular communication type (e.g. SAP-System, Internet). The communication types are represented by subtypes in this infotype.
If you want to set up an electronic communication system (SAP-Office, SAP-Business-Workflow) in which the user determination takes place using persons (employees, sales employees), then the subtype for the active system must exist and the user names for the persons who are going to be using the communication process must be stored in this subtype. The subtype key for the active SAP system must always correspond to the subtype key entered in the Human Resources Planning and Development IMG, in the section Flag active SAP System.
Standard settings
The standard SAP system contains certain communication types that have been defined as subtypes. Subtype "0001" has been set up for the active SAP System.
Activities
- Please check the preset subtypes.
- Please check to see whether the subtype for the active SAP System has been set up and that this subtype's key corresponds to the entry made in the step Flag active SAP System.
- If necessary, change the preset subtypes.
