In this step, you can determine default values, depending on various control features for the following fields:
- Period of continued pay
- Sick pay allowance period
- Probation period
- Contract category
- Period of notice
Example
You want to set up the default for the employee subgroup 'Salaried employees' in the infotype Contract elements (0016), so that this employee subgroup has 42 days' continued pay, 6 months' sick pay supplement and a period of notice that is 6 weeks before the end of the quarter. Industrial workers are to have the default of 42 days' continued pay, no sick pay supplement, a one month probation period and a period of notice that is one week before the end of the month.
Requirements
- You need to have defined the periods of notice in the step "Determine periods of notice".
- You need to have created the contract categories in the step "Define contract categories".
Standard settings
The SAP standard system contains a feature for default values for the information type Contract elements (0016).
Recommendation
Use this feature and use the sample entries contained in the SAP standard system as a guideline.

- Check the existing feature.
- Change the feature according to your requirements.
- Delete any rules not required.
