In this step, you define jobs i.e the professional activities and the areas of responsibility within your company.
Example
You want to be able to store the information, that one of your employees is active as a financial accountant, in the infotype Organizational Assignment (0001).
Requirements
Get an overview of the job definitions that are found in your company.
Standard settings
The standard SAP System contains various job definitions. However, these might not reflect the situation in your company.
Recommendation
SAP recommends that you use 'job definitions' for reporting or as a preparation for implementing the Organizational Management component.
Activities
- Delete the entries that you do not need.
- Create your own job definitions.
Further notes
The additional national job indicators (for example, for Germany: the DUEVO activity key and the miners' and mine employees' insurance key) are defined in the section or step pertaining to the relevant nation.
If you are intending to use the HR component Organizational Management at a later stage, you can prepare for this by maintaining the jobs.
Entries may be displayed for you to maintain which have a P in the column maintained by PD. These entries were added by the Personnel Planning and Development application, which means that these entries can only be maintained or deleted there.
