You can define the following defaults with feature WWUMP:

  • UIF contribution type and exemption reason
  • Pension Fund contribution type and exemption reason
  • Medical Aid contribution type and exemption reason

The default values for this feature have been set using an 11-character string following the naming convention: U-1-P-2-M-3.

  • U = UIF contribution type
  • 1 = UIF exemption reason
  • P = Pension Fund contribution type
  • 2 = Pension Fund exemption reason
  • M = Medical Aid contribution type
  • 3 = Medical Aid exemption Reason

Standard Settings

The standard settings for contribution types are:

  • 0 = Not contributing
  • 1 = Standard contribution
  • 2 = Flexible remuneration

The standard settings for exemption reasons are:

  • 0 = No reason
  • 1 = Expatriate
  • 2 = Contractor
  • 3 = Part time
  • 4 = Pensioner

Defaults are based on the feature definitions and the standard settings as described above.

Examples

The employee makes a standard contribution to UIF, Pension Fund, and Medical Aid and the exemption reason is therefore none.

0-4-0-4-0-4
The employee does not contribute to UIF, Pension Fund, and Medical Aid. The reason the employee does not contribute is that he or she is a pensioner.

Note: Blank spaces must be entered as placeholders, as required.
