This step enables you check the the tax classes [tariefgroepen].
Tax classes define the personal tax deduction for each employee. Every employee is assigned a tax class.

Standard settings
Tax classes and the corresponding data are defined by the tax authorities and supplied by SAP as part of the standard delivery. The system uses the codes 1 to 5 (which are also defined by the tax authorities). No modifications are required.
Note: Increases in connection with age relief ['ouderenaftrek'] are defined separately (cf. Controlling OT/LH Constants).
Recommendation
Activities
- Check the standard income tax classes supplied by SAP.
- If new tax classes have been introduced by the tax authorities, enter them in the system.
- Interim changes to an income tax class: Delimit the old data and create a new record with the correct start date.
Please note that when making changes or entering new data, you must always use the data defined by the tax authorities.
