Maintain A Groups (Payroll Groups) for PBS Treatment
'A groups' are used to break employees down into various groups for payroll. The 'A group' is a PBS internal breakdown and, as far as the functions are concerned, corresponds to a payroll group in an SAP system. That means that an A group defines which payroll period is valid for the employees assigned to this 'A group', as well as the payment date for a payroll run.
It is also possible to send the statistics for DA ('Dansk Arbejdsgiverforening') and DS ('Danmarks Statistik'). If you have to break down employees when creating these statistics, this must be reflected in the breakdown.
Example
You have a group of monthly wage earners (all with the same payment date) and a group of two-week wage earners (also all paid on the same day). To do this you must define at least two A groups. Your corporate group consists of three companies that should send separate statistics to DA and DS, and in all three companies there are both monthly and two-week wage earners. For this reason, both A groups must be split up again into three 'A groups'. This means that you would have to define a total of six 'A groups'.
Requirements
You must have defined the personnel areas and personnel subareas before you can define the 'A groups'.
Standard settings
An example for a setup of A groups is delivered with the model company 'TD'.
Recommendation
Carefully consider which A groups you require. You can probably derive the breakdown according to payroll organization from your payroll areas. As far as the breakdown according to statistics is concerned, you should inform DS and DA, to make sure that the breakdown of A groups is sufficient to provide DA and DS with the correct data.
