In this step you will define the way the levels in a pay scale group should be increased.
In other words, you will create a new basic pay curve for a given group.
To set up the curve you first define the initial absolute amount for the group.
The subsequent entries define increase amounts, that is, values to be added to the amount calculated for the previous level.
The increase amounts are applied to a given sequence of levels in the group. The level sequence must have already been defined in Define the level chain.
Each sequence of levels is indicated by a sequence number, which identifies each sequence uniquely.
Sequence number 000 (zero) is reserved to indicate the initial absolute amount.
To define the increase amount to be applied to a given sequence of levels, you indicate the last level in the sequence, the sequence number and the amount itself.
To define the initial absolute amount, you need only to set the sequence number to 000 (zero).
The sequence number should be set in ascending order, without gaps in the sequence.
Example
Assuming the following values for pay scale group G01:
Levels in group:
1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 2C, 3A, 3B, and 3C
Initial absolute amount: 170,000
Increase amount:
for levels 1A, 1B, 1C, and 2A: 20,000
for levels 2B and 2C : 10,000
for levels 3A, 3B, and 3C : 5,000
The necessary entries to define the values above would be as follows:
Group G01
Sequence Level Amount
=======================
000 170,000
001 2A 20,000
002 2C 10,000
003 3C 5,000
The resulting curve for group G01 would be as follows:
Level Amount
===============
1A 190,000
1B 210,000
1C 230,000
2A 250,000
2B 260,000
2C 270,000
3A 275,000
3B 280,000
3C 285,000
Requirements
You must have set up the level sequence in Define the level chain.
Standard settings
The entries in the SAP standard delivery system are only samples.
Recommendation
Sequence number 000 (zero) is reserved to define the initial absolute amount. Do not use it to define increase amounts.
Activities
- Check the SAP sample entries.
- Delete entries that are not required.
- Create new entries according to your requirements.
