This step enables you to define wage type characteristics.

These characteristics refer to how the wage types behave in SAP Payroll Accounting.

Requirements

You set up your wage type catalog in the previous step.

You have also defined your wage type catalog and have an overview of your wage type characteristics.

Standard settings

The standard SAP system contains several sample wage types.

Recommendation

If you are intending to use the SAP Payroll Accounting module, you should familiarize yourself beforehand with the functions it contains in order to avoid creating wage types that will be generated automatically.

Activities

  1. Add any new wage types you require.
    1. Define the country grouping for the wage type(s) you want to edit.
    2. Position your cursor on an entry whose title indicates approximately or exactly what you want to define.
    3. Decide whether you want to copy this wage type to a new number or whether you want to create a new entry (without a template).
    4. Give the wage type a name and number.
    5. Specify a validity period for the entry.
  2. Delete any wage types that you do not need.
