An employee's years of service in the company, measured in two, three or five year periods, will depend on the calculation method used, and thus, on the predefined sequence of time periods.
The calculation of completed years of service will also depend on the periodicity that you set for the calculation, which could be monthly, quaterly or every six months.
In this menu option you can define the service calculation methods used in your company.
Example
The service calculation method for an employee, measured from the date he or she joined the company is:
- one two year period,
- two three year periods,
- five year periods until reaching his or her total years of service.
The service calculation is carried out on a quarterly basis, using the start of the quarter in which the years of service is reached.

Standard settings
There are SAP model entries.
Recommendation
Adjust the model entries according to your requirements.
Activities
- Check the model entries.
- Adjust them or create new entries if required.
- Enter the service calculation code.
- Specify the time period to be used as the basis for calculating years of service.
- Specify the seniority pay start date within the basis period.
- Enter the period sequence.
