This step enables you to enter basic settings for withholding tax calculations.
For each tax canton, you determine

  • Which base wage types are used to determine the base percentages and/or base amounts
  • How partial months and the thirteenth monthly salary are processed
  • The maximum tax amount
  • How concurrent employment situations are processed

Requirements

  • You have created the tax cantons.
  • You have created the appropriate base wage types.

Standard settings

An example entry is included in the standard system for each tax canton. You can use it as a template for your own data records.

Activities

  1. Enter the tax canton and validity period.
  2. Access the detail screen.
  3. Enter the base wage type for percentages and/or amounts.
  4. Specify the variant for calculating partial periods and taxing the thirteenth monthly salary.
  5. Enter the maximum withholding tax amount.
  6. Determine how tax is calculated in concurrent employment situations.
