In this step, you make settings which control the structure of the withholding tax table for the individual cantons by assigning a column to a tax bracket within the table. You can also store data here which allows for the automatic transfer of withholding tax pay scales by means of the reports RPUQSTC0 and RPUQSTC2. The first report is for uploading the pay scales from disks provided by the individual cantons, while the second controls the upload from BIGA (Swiss Employment and Wage Statistics Office) disks.
In the standard SAP R/3 System, the withholding tax tables have already been set for the cantons for which withholding tax pay scales or pay scale disks existed at the time of creation.
Recommendation
SAP recommends that you familiarize yourself both with the functionality of the reports RPUQSTC0 and RPUQSTC2 and with the composition and format of the data of the pay scale disk of a canton before you make any settings in this step.
SAP recommends that you use the report RPUQSTC2 and disks issued by BIGA. These enable the data to be transferred more simply, since they use a standardized format for which no further customizing is necessary.
