In this step, you create the tax cantons required for the withholding tax calculation. Since the physical canton for the withholding tax calculation and the tax canton are not necessarily identical, you can create several tax cantons for a canton. This also allows you to calculate withholding tax depending on the municipalities concerned.
Note that the cantons are not assigned to the tax cantons via the cantons defined in the step Cantons and municipalities, but via the geographical regions appropriate to a country which are created within Global settings.
Requirements
You must already have created the Geographical regions, if you do not use the geographical regions of the standard SAP R/3 System.
Standard settings
In the standard SAP R/3 System, every tax canton corresponds to its physical canton.
Activities
Enter the identifier of the tax canton, the country and the corresponding geographical region.
