In this step, you check and/or set the admissability for infotype 80 for your employees (Canada only). You use infotype 80 to record maternity/paternity leaves for employees.
Example
When you attempt to make an entry in infotype 80 for an employee, the HR system uses feature MASEX to determine whether the employee can take maternity/paternity leave, based on the country grouping for that employee. For most countries, only female employees can have an entry in this infotype. However in Canada and Italy, male or female employees can take leave when they become a parent. Therefore, employers in Canada and Italy should adjust the return code for feature MASEX as required for their company's policies.
Requirements
Standard settings
The standard setting of feature MASEX is 0 for Canada and Italy. This means that infotype 80 can be used by Canadian and Italian companies to record maternity or paternity leaves.
Recommendation
Activities
Set the return code of feature MASEX to the appropriate setting for your company.
