In this step, you create the cantons required by your company. You can also define the municipalities belonging to the individual cantons.

Standard settings

The individual cantons and important municipalities have already been created in the standard SAP system.

Activities

To create a canton, proceed as follows :

  1. Assign a two-digit identifier to the canton.
  2. Leave the fields MunNo and PstCd empty.
  3. Enter a corresponding short text for the canton.

To create a municipality, proceed as follows:

  1. In the field Ct specify the identifier of the canton that the municipality belongs to.
  2. Enter a municipality number with a maximum of four-digits.
  3. Enter the municipality's postal code.
  4. Enter a corresponding short text for the municipality.

Further notes

  • The field Res represents a supplement to the municipality number which you can use to represent delivery districts, for example, in the system. This field is not currently used or supported by the system.
  • Please bear in mind, that the canton of residence is not necessarily the same as the tax canton and that, as a result of this, you might also have to create tax cantons. For further information refer to the step "Create a tax canton".
