"Marital status (B)" assigns an ID number to the marital status options. Marital status plays an important role in Belgian tax calculation and is part of the Belcotax declaration.
Normally, the marital status entered here should correspond to the marital status of infotype 0002, Personal data, but the codes are different. You can, however, choose a different option if you prefer not to have the tax accounted for the same time period. Retroactive calculation, for example, is triggered by this field.

Recommendation
