Use
In this Customizing activity, you define settings for Belgian social insurance (SI) employer categories. A social insurance employer category (also referred to as the employer class) broadly describes to which industry sector the company belongs, and which activities it is engaged in.
A company can belong to multiple sectors. If this is the case, the company is assigned multiple SI categories which are differentiated at employee level.
The SI category for employers is needed for calculations and for generating the social insurance type. It also indirectly determines the percentage used for calculating the employee SI contribution.
Requirements
Belgian net pay only supports the following categories in all statutory requirements:
- Social Insurance Private Sector DmfA 000/001/010/017/024/075/087/097
- Social Insurance Local Governments DmfAPPL 951/952/953/955/958.
Standard settings
The standard SAP R/3 System contains the categories predefined by the SI authorities.
There are three steps involved in defining the SI employer categories:
- The SI Categories Employers (B) (V_T5B02) Customizing view contains all the available SI categories
- Using the Employee Groups/Subgroups (B) (V_T5B9G) Customizing view, you may enter a default category for each combination of employee group/subgroup. The default value will appear in the Social Insurance (0100) infotype
- If the Employee Groups/Subgroups (B) (V_T5B9G) Customizing view is left blank, the Default Employer Class (RSZCA) feature can be used to propose a default value
Recommendation
In most cases, SI employer categories only be modified if the SI regulations change. In these cases, you update the values accordingly.
Activities
- Delete the categories not used in your company. This will provide you with an accurate validity check.
- Specify the default value that appears in the Social Insurance (0100) infotype for each Employee group/subgroup.
- Implement the corresponding default values using the Default Employer Class (RSZCA) feature.
Further notes
The employer's SI category is also used for the following:
- SI rate by contribution part
- Percentages SI-part per category employer/employee
- Total SI per employer/employee category
- Factory shutdown fundraising (FFE/FSO)
- Rate for existence insurance fund
- Wage moderation rates
These tables can can be modified Customizing activity Parameter settings and
also in Customizing activity Logic of the social security payments.
Example
Examples of valid SI employer categories include the following:
- 000 General
- 001 Public services
