Define Miscellaneous Plan Option Jumping Setting (FLEX)

Use

This IMG activity controls employee Miscellaneous Plan option jumping for the new benefits year, according to currently enroled Miscellaneous Plans. In this step, you define the permitted benefits plan options available for employees in the coming benefits year, based on their current benefits selections.

If you do not perform this step, or you do not set the Opt.Chk indicator (see Preconditions), no restrictions will exist for Miscellaneous Plan options in the new benefits year, and all possible Miscellaneous Plan options will be valid for eligible employees.    

Requirements

You have set the Opt.Chk indicator for each Miscellaneous Plan where you wish to run an option jumping check, in the IMG step Define Flexible Benefits Miscellaneous Plan Attributes (FLEX).

Setting this indicator means that the system will check the entries you create in this IMG step, settings that define the permitted plan options for each Miscellaneous Plan in the coming benefits year.

Activities

  1. Execute this IMG activity and select the appropriate benefits area when prompted.
  2. The table view Plan Option Jump for Miscellaneous Plan: Overview is displayed.
  3. For each Miscellaneous Plan where you wish to define jumping options, create a new entry and maintain the following fields:
    1. Benefit Plan - Four character identifier for the Miscellaneous Plan
    2. S.Opt - Current Miscellaneous Plan options selected
    3. T.Opt - Miscellaneous Plan options you wish to create for the coming benefits year
    4. Valid From - Miscellaneous Plan start date
    5. End Date - Miscellaneous Plan end date
  4. Save your entries.

Example

You wish to define option jumping settings for the Company Car Miscellaneous Plan (with the identifier CC01), offered to employees in a given benefits area for the coming benefits year. You have already set the Opt.Chk indicator in the IMG Step Define Flexible Benefits Miscellaneous Plan Attributes (FLEX).

The employees for whom you wish to define option jumping settings are those currently enrolled in a Company Car Plan with a medium car option. Your organisation has decided that for the given benefits area, all employees currently enrolled in a Company Car Plan with a medium car option will be able to choose a small, medium, or large company car in the coming benefits year.

Thus, the Company Car Plan Option Jumping Settings you need to maintain in this step are:

    From/To

Small Car     ->    Small Car

Small Car     ->    Medium Car

Small Car     ->    Large Car

To define these jumping settings, you make the following table entries:

  • Benefit Plan - CC01
  • S.Opt - Small Car
  • T.Opt - Small Car, Medium Car, Large Car
  • Valid From - Start date of coming benefits year
  • End Date - End date of coming benefits year
