Define Flexible Benefits Scheme Attributes (FLEX)

Use

In this step, you define the funding scheme used for your benefit area for Great Britain Flexible Benefits (FlexBens) administration.

There are three types of funding scheme in Great Britain:

  1. No additional funding - salary plus core benefits
  2. Additional funding
  3. Total package funding

For each funding scheme, the system handles differently.

Example 1

If you implement the scheme No additional funding, the standard value of all options within the same benefit plan should be the same to ensure a consistent calculation of net cost/savings to the employee.

Private Medical Plan

Example 2

If you use Additional funding, the standard value of all options within the same benefit plan must be zero. Additionally, each employee must be assigned a credit plan. Actually, the value of the employee's Flex Fund is derived from the credit plan that you have maintained for that employee.
