In this IMG activity, you can check the validity of currencies to be replaced in tables T500W (Country's permissible currencies) and TCURC (Currency code), given that, as of 31.12.2007, the Bolívar will no longer be valid as legal tender and will be replaced by the Bolívar Fuerte.
- In Country's permissible currencies in table T500W you must specify a validity period with start and end dates for the national currency.
- In the extras view of the table TCURC Currencies view, you must specify the validity end-date for the currencies used in the master data.
If you process the master data, the system will check whether the currency entered is valid for the entire infotype period. The system will issue a warning message in the following cases:
- Generate an infotype record with a currency that will only be valid for part of the infotype record's validity period. In this case, the system issues a warning message.
Example: VEB currency is only valid to 31.12.2007. Generate an infotype record with a validity period from 01.01.2008-31.12.9999 in VEF.
- You want to create an infotype record with a currency that is not valid for any date within the infotype record's validity period. In this case, the system will issue an error message. The infotype record cannot be created.
Example: VEB currency is only valid to 31.12.2007. You cannot create an ifotype record with a validity period from 01.01.2008-31.12.9999 in VEB.

Recommendation
Given that infotypes are usually created with an end-date of 31.12.9999 and conversion programs automatically delimit and calculate these records, SAP recommends users to specify the currency's validity period just before performing the currency translation. In this way, unnecessary warning messages will not be issued when the master data is processed.
