Use

Use this step to record a prolonged-absence check in the Fixed Commuter Allowance Calculation (NWWB).

You may opt to continue paying the fixed tax-exempt travel allowance during a maximum absence of six consecutive weeks. If one of your employees is expected to be absent for a prolonged period, you can only continue paying out the fixed tax-exempt travel allowance in a tax-exempt form during the current and ensuing calendar month. The fixed tax-exempt travel allowance may not be paid out again until the month after the month in which the employee returns.

By positioning the prolonged-absence check in the schema, you can determine whether the travel allowance should be taxed or not paid out at all during a period of prolonged absence. The standard delivery assumes that the allowance will not paid out at all if it is not tax-exempt according to the Dutch Tax Authority. If you wish to pay out the taxed allowance anyway, you need to use your own calculation rule to delete the calculated fixed amounts in an ELSE branch of the IF function with parameter NWVT in the Cummuter Allowance Calculation NWWA..

Standard settings

The standard setup assumes that the allowance will not be paid out at all during periods of prolonged absence.

Activities

  • Add the IF function with parameter NWVT and the corresponding ENDIF function to the beginning and end (respectively) ot the Cummuter Allowance Calculation (NWWA.) schema.
  • Add the IF function with parameter NWVT and the corresponding ENDIF function to the beginning and end (respectively) of the Fixed Commuter Allowance Calculation (NWWB) schema.

Example

Fnct. Par1 Par2 Par3 Par4 D Descr.

IF NWVT Tax-exempt allowance permitted?

NWV00 W J Calculate (fixed) commuter allowance

PIT NWVF NOAB Do not offset pub.trans. based on actual costs

PIT NWVE NOAB Correct fixed allowance for days absent

PIT NWVA P61 NOAB Add 'variable splits'

PIT NWVB P61 NOAB EXAMPLE calculation of commuter allowance

PIT NWVC P61 NOAB Check whether all commuter allowances have been calculated

ENDIF -- Tax-exempt allowance permitted?

Note

  • If you also wish to stop the allowance during short absences, you can do this by marking off the relevant infotype record and creating a new one without kilometers.
  • If the standard setup is not correct in individual cases for whether or not someone is still eligible for a tax-exempt travel allowance, you can choose to ignore the prolonged absence for the relevant person using the Special Processing for Sickness (BBZKT) field in infotype Commuter Traffic NL (0127).
