In this step, you maintain PBS wage type intervals and their assignment to SAP wage types.
Compared to the old method, the new method provides an overview of all the wage type intervals and existing assignments.
Note that there is an important prerequisite that your wage type intervals must fulfill to enable you to use the new method:
The wage type intervals must conform to the following naming conventions (in the old method, the wage type intervals did not follow a naming convention):
- The name must have four digits. It cannot have a blank space at the beginning or end, or three, two or one digit only. This applies to the start and the end of the wage type interval.
- The name must only comprise digits. Do not use special characters such as %, &.
- The only exception is a forward slash at the beginning of the name.
Example
All the wage type intervals specified in the model enterprise have been set up accordingly. Hence you can use these wage type intervals as examples.
Requirements
For this method to function properly, the wage type intervals must have corresponding start and end wage types as specified above. If they do not, you must use the old method until the wage types have been adjusted accordingly.
Recommendation
Ensure that your wage types conform to this naming convention, since this will enable you to use the new method and gain a better overview. This will also enable you to use F4 Help in wage type assignment for PBS wage types and quickly recognize which wage type needs to be entered.
