Use
In this Customizing activity, you determine how the system processes a specific overtime-related wage type during payroll and in the Time Off from Overtime (HJPULA_GRTIMEOF) report.
Make your settings by the following allowed combination of the checkboxes:
Combination Overtime Accumulation Overtime Convert No Deduction

Combination A is applicable for wage types that save the following special hours:
- Overtime hours in public holidays
- The difference between working hours in your company and what is regulated in law.
For example, the law requires 8 working hours per day, while your company applies 6 hours per day. If an employee worked 13 hours in a day, you record 2 hours in a dedicated wage type, and 5 hours in another wage type. For the wage type storing 2 hours difference, you maintain combination A.
Combination B and C are applicable for the wage types that contain overtime hours exceeding legally required hours. The system remunerates the overtime hours during payroll. At the same time, the exceeding overtime hours can be converted to absence quota. Difference of valuation rate results in different subsequent system behavior as follows:
- Valuation rate of a wage type in Combination B is not less than the legal rate.
When the employee uses the generated quota, the system deducts the relevant payment from employee's income.
- Valuation rate of a wage type in Combination C is less than the legal rate.
When the employee uses the generated quota, the system does not deducts the relevant payment. If the employee cannot use up the generated quota in its effective period, you create records in the Time Quota Compensation (0416) infotype to compensate previous remuneration with lower valuation rate.
Combination D is applicable for all the remaining overtime wage types.
