Use

In this Customizing activity, you define the wage type (WT) groups for calculating payments of overtime hours during payroll.

During payroll, an employee's overtime hours are divided in several segments; each segment has different weighting for payment calculation, and the total overtime remuneration is the sum of payments from all the relevant segments. A WT group represents an overtime segment in the system.

Requirements

  • This is an optional activity, applicable only for method B and D. For more information about the methods, see Notes on Customizing.
  • You have created wage types which represent overtime hours with different weightings for accumulation in Set Up Overtime Wage Types.

Standard settings

Activities

  1. Define names of WT groups for overtime accumulation
  2. In a specific WT group, define the wage type correspondence for payroll processing as follows:
    1. In the column with header Original Wage Type, enter the wage types that you register the overtime hours
    2. In the column with header Converted Wage Type, enter the wage type that the system processes during payroll when overtime hours exceed the limit of the WT group.
      3. Note:
      In the Converted Wage Type field, enter only the new wage types that you created in step 1.
      You define the limit hour of a WT group in Define Overtime Accumulation in Payroll.
  3. Specify the sequence of overtime counting for a specific wage type. For more information, see Sequence Number.
