In this step, you define a work schedule rule for reduced working hours that corresponds to the work schedule rule assigned to an employee.

Requirements

  • The name of the work schedule rule for reduced working hours must be entered in the Alternative work schedule rule field of the employee's normal work schedule rule.

Standard settings

The standard system contains a number of sample work schedule rules that you can use for reduced working hours.

Recommendation

Use the sample entries provided by SAP as a reference.

Activities

  1. Check the sample entries in the standard system.
  2. If required, copy the sample entries, and modify the entries to meet your requirements.

The following fields are particularly important:

  1. Weekly working hours - One fifth of the value in this field is added per grace day to calculate the grace period.
  2. Monthly working hours - This field contains the average number of monthly working hours used to calculate the hourly rate for reduced working hours.
  3. Work schedule rule for reduced working hours - You must flag this field to indicate that the work schedule rule applies to reduced working hours.
