There are often legal regulations which stipulate that an average rate of remuneration calculated from previous months should be paid when an employee is absent. In this step, you define the rules for calculating the average rate.
The following questions must be answered:
- How many months should be considered to form the average?
- Can a period become irrelevant for the mean value analysis?
(e.g. if an employee is absent without pay for the entire period)
- What is the maximum number of periods that should be referenced to calculate an average?
- Which types of absence should involve an average rate of payment?
- Which formula is used to calculate the average rate?
- If an employee is new to the company and there are no past values on which to base the calculation, how is the calculation performed in the first month?
- Should the average rate be modified if there is an increase in standard pay, for example?
- Which wage types are included in an average?
Standard settings
The standard SAP system provides an average formula which adds amounts and hours from the three preceding months. In end processing, an hourly rate is calculated by dividing the amount by the number of hours.
Activities
- Check which average regulations are used in your company.
- Copy standard personnel calculation rule X016 to Z016.
