In Customizing for Travel Management, you can define trip activity types specifically for Travel Planning and for Travel Expenses. In the IMG activity Assign Trip Activity Types, you can assign the trip activity types for Travel Planning to those in Travel Expenses.

This causes the correct trip activity type to be applied automatically when a travel expense report is created based on an existing travel plan.

Requirements

You have completed the following IMG activities:

Travel Management -> Travel Planning -> Trip Rules and Profiles -> Travel Profiles -> Define Trip Activity Types

Travel Management -> Travel Expenses -> Master Data -> Control Parameters for Travel Expenses -> Control Parameters from Trip Data -> Define Trip Activity Types

Standard settings

Activities

  1. Start the IMG activity Assign Trip Activity Types.
  2. Choose New Entries.
  3. Domestic/Intl: Do not change the default setting B (No Distinction).
  4. Activity type: Enter one of the predefined values.
  5. Trip schema: Select the technical trip schema PL (Travel Planning), which is delivered in the standard system from release 4.6C. This trip schema is very important for the integration of the travel plan and travel request with the travel expense report.

Upgrade customers: If schema PL is not available, we recommend copying this schema (in table T706S) from client 000 to your client.
Alternatively, you can choose an existing trip schema that has the value Domestic/International = B (No Distinction). If you choose a schema with the value T (Domestic Trip) or A (Trip Abroad), problems may arise when you save travel plans or travel requests.
Activity: Enter one of the predefined values.
