In this activity, you restrict the providers of a specific accommodation service allowed for each of the accommodation specific trip rules that you already created.
The restriction is based on the location (Country, region, or IATA location hotel chain) that should be considered for any corresponding availability queries.
Requirements
You have created and set up the appropriate trip rules using the activity Define Trip Rules for Hotel
Activities
- Choose New Entries
- Select the appropriate trip rule
- Enter the required restrictions for the trip rule.
Example
The accommodation trip rule "RRHotel" has the following characteristics:
- Trip rule:
RRHotel (Hotel trip rule) - Geographical type:
2 (country - Destination:
IN (India) - Provider Code:
BW (Best Western)
HI (Holiday Inn)
When you use the trip rule "RRHotel", the availability query for an IATA location in India will only search for accommodation provided by Best Western and Holiday Inn.
Further notes
The number of possible accommodation providers that can be returned by the reservation system is limited and varies depending on the reservation system used. For example, the Amadeus reservation system only allows a maximum of three providers per availability query. You should take the different requirements for each reservation system into account when maintaining this activity, as if the run time is exceeded, the user will be requested to enter the accommodation provider manually.
The validity of the restrictions is not controlled by the location hierarchy. This means that only the restrictions that apply to the IATA location closest to the location required, and are valid when the query is run will be taken into consideration. For example, a restriction set up for Europe will not be taken into account when an availability query for Frankfurt is run, as another restriction exists for Germany and this IATA location is closest to the location required.
