Use
In this IMG activity, you define criteria for searching for low-cost carriers in best-price queries for flight connections.
For the trip rule LCC, which you need to define beforehand, you can assign multiple routes and providers for which connections can then be found through a Low-Cost Carrier Consolidator System.
The process is based on best-price queries for flight connections. The results of the low-cost carrier query are added to the GDS results of the best-price queries. Note that an LCC query is only possible if you have enabled best-price queries for flight connections (see Travel Planning Control).
In a later activity (see Travel Profiles), you assign the trip rule LCC to the user profiles. This assignment enables you to assign various priorities to the flight availability query results that reflect the company's travel policy.
You define the restriction based on the following criteria:
- Providers of flight-specific travel services
- Origin (country, region, or IATA location)
- Destination (country, region, or IATA location)
- Validity of flight rule
- Direction: From origin to destination, or in both directions
Example
Trip rule:
LCC (flight trip rule)
Provider code: U2 (Easy Jet)
Geographic type: 0 (IATA location)
Origin: ORY (Paris Orly)
Geographic type: 0 (IATA location)
Destination: NCE (Nice)
Direction: In both directions
Flights from Paris to Nice and vice-versa with the low-cost carrier Easy Jet are assigned to the flight-specific trip rule LCC. Best-price queries for flight connections to and from Paris will then attempt to find Easy Jet connections through the Low Cost Carrier Consolidator.
Requirements
You first need to define the trip rule LCC in Define Trip Rules - Flight. Note that this is a technical fixed value and the key of the trip rule must be "LCC".

1. Choose New Entries.
2. Select a trip rule.
3. Define the attributes for the trip rule.
Further notes
You need to assign the trip rules defined here to a travel profile in the IMG under Trip Rules and Profiles -> Travel Policy -> Travel Profiles -> Control and Evaluation of Availability Queries -> Evaluate Availability Query Results.
