Use
In this IMG activity, you control the system response for additional availability queries. If no entries have been made under the IMG activity Extend availability query for additional airlines you do not need to complete this step.
The following settings can be made:
1. If you have made entries in the extend availability query for additional airlines step, a flight query will take place using the airlines entered in this step, and following on from this an airline neutral query will be completed. You can either completely prohibt this neutral query, or you can control the number of list pages returned by the reservation system in response to the query (either 1, 2, or 3 pages).
Standard Setting: Query with 3 additional neutral flight query pages
2. If a lot of extra airlines have been entered for the required flight leg, this will lead to a considerable increase in the time required for the query. You can limit the number of airlines considered for each query to a number between 1 and 9, or you can make no limitation.
Standard setting: No Limitiation
3. If you have limited the number of airlines, you can control the system response for the case that you have created more airlines for the flight leg, than the limit allows. In this case you can decide whether to prohibit the additional availability query with specific airlines completely, or to limit it to the first x number of airlines listed (whereby x represent the maximum number as previously defined).
Standard Setting: If no limitation is made, this control parameter has no meaning.
4. Finally, it is possible to define the additional flight query as an exclusive query. This means that the reservation system will only return flights where all legs of the flight are provided by the airline specified. If you set the query as not exclusive the availability query will include all flights where at least one of the legs of the flight is completed by the airline required.
Standard setting: The query is not exclusive.
Requirements
You must enter the trip routes and airlines that should be included in the additional availability query using the IMG activity Extend availability query for additional airlines.
Standard settings
If you do not make any changes to this activity, the settings shown in the section above under the heading standard setting will be used.
