In this step, you delimit the flight-specific trip rules you have already defined.

You can assign several trip routes and travel providers to each trip rule. These trip rules are then assigned to user profiles in a different activity (See Travel Profiles. This allows you to control and reflect enterprise specific travel policies by assigning different priorities to different flight availability results.

The delimitation takes place according to the following criteria:

  • Provider of flight-specific travel services
  • Start location (country, region or IATA location)
  • Destination location (country, region or IATA location)
  • Flight rule validity
    • Flight connection type: Direct flight, connecting flight or no restriction
    • Direction: Trip to destination or both directions

Example

The flight-specific trip rule "RRFlug" is to have the following characteristics:

  • Trip rule:
    RRFlug (Flight trip rule)
  • Provider code:
    LH (Lufthansa)
  • Geographical type:
    0 (IATA location)
  • Departure:
    FRA (Frankfurt)
  • Geographical type:
    2 (Country)
  • Destination:
    IN (India)
  • Direct Flight Indicator:
    No restriction
  • Direction:
    In both directions

All flights from Frankfurt to destinations within India and from India to frankfurt, that are undertaken with the travel service provider Lufthansa, are assigned to the flight-specific trip rule "RRFlug". This rule applies for direct flights and connecting/in-direct flights.

Requirements

You have specified the corresponding travel policy in sectionTrip rules - Define flight.

  1. Choose New entries.
  2. Choose a trip rule.
  3. Specify the corresponding characteristics for the trip rule chosen.

Further notes

The trip rules, maintained here must be assigned to a travel profile in the IMG activity Evaluate Availability Query Results.
