Use
As an alternative to including hotels in travel plans by means of a global reservation system, you can also use a hotel direct reservation system for this purpose.
In the standard system, the reservation system integrated with Travel Planning is Hotel Reservation Service (HRS). This system is used as an example for defining access parameters.
In the Customizing activity Specify Access Parameters for Hotel Direct Reservation Systems, you configure the parameters for accessing the HRS system.
You configure the access parameters for each technical access grouping (see IMG activities Define Groupings for Access to External Reservation Systems and Assign Groupings for Access to External Reservation Systems).
Note that currently only one hotel interface can be used for each access grouping (either HRS or one of the global reservation systems):
- Hotel queries and bookings using HRS
- Hotel queries and bookings using a global reservation system
You can influence how the reservation system is selected with the BAdI FITP_TRAVEL_PLANNING,
CUSTOMIZE_CATEGORY_RES_SYSTEM.
You need the following information to access HRS (access parameters and the HRS customer numbers can be obtained directly from HRS):
- Reservation system (see Define Reservation Systems)
- Access parameter name
- Access parameter password
- Access parameter key
- Access parameter type
- Customer number of your company at HRS
- RFC destination for the Web services on the SAP Business Connector server
- Indicator for specifying live access or test access to HRS
Requirements
You have defined technical access groupings (see IMG activity Define Groupings for Access to External Reservation Systems).
Access to HRS requires the use of multiple Web services (HTTP/XML interface). The middleware for these services is the SAP Business Connector.
The enhancement to the SAP Business Connector required to enable access to HRS can be found in SAPNet under the alias tm-downloads. There you will also find detailed information on configuring the Business Connector enhancement and configuring an RFC destination for connecting the SAP system to the Business Connector.
Standard settings
Activities
To configure the access parameters for HRS:
- Choose New Entries.
- Enter the technical access grouping that is to use these access parameters.
- Enter the above parameters.
- Save your entries.
