Use

If you are connected to a global reservation system, your travel plans and travel requests in SAP Travel Planning can include flights, hotels, and car rentals, as well as train trips booked through a rail booking portal.

For this feature you need an HTTP/SOAP interface.

In the Customizing activity Define Access Parameters for Rail Booking Portals, you configure the parameters for accessing corporate rail booking portals.

The only such portal currently supported is the Deutsche Bahn's corporate portal BIBE (Bahn Internet Booking Engine).

You configure the access parameters for each technical access grouping (see IMG activities Define Groupings for Access to External Reservation Systems and Assign Groupings for Access to External Reservation Systems).

Note that only one of the following accesses to the Deutsche Bahn is possible for each access grouping:

  • Access to Deutsche Bahn through Amadeus API (NVS)
  • Access to Deutsche Bahn through BIBE portal

You need the following information to access a rail portal:

  • Provider code of the rail company providing the portal (see Define Reservation Systems)
  • Your company's customer number at the rail company
  • An HTTP destination for certification before accessing the portal (if required by the rail company)
  • Logon data (user name and password, if required) for accessing the booking data in the rail portal
  • Logon data (user name and password, if required) for certification before accessing the portal
  • Indicator for specifying live access or test access to the rail portal

You can obtain the logon data from the rail company.

To access booking data from the rail system, you still need to specify that communication with the rail company should take place across a partner interface in the SAP Exchange Infrastructure (XI) (see IMG activity Define Use of XI Interfaces for Categories). You also need to configure a communications scenario in XI.

Requirements

You have defined technical access groupings (see IMG activity Define Groupings for Access to External Reservation Systems).

To access the Deutsche Bahn Corporate Portal BIBE (Bahn Internet Booking Engine), you also need certification (through the SAP Internet Connection Framework ICF) and Web services for calling up booking data (across the SAP Exchange Infrastructure XI).

In SAP Service Marketplace, under quick link tm-downloads, you will find detailed information about the configuration of XI communications and the certification via ICF (including instructions for creating an external HTTP destination for the certification server of Deutsche Bahn).

Standard settings

Activities

To configure the access parameters for the Deutsche Bahn:

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. Enter the technical access grouping that is to use these access parameters.
  3. Enter the above parameters.
  4. Save your entries.

Example

To access the Deutsche Bahn through the BIBE portal, you need to make the following entries and settings:

  • Provider code: BI Deutsche Bahn BIBE
  • Customer number: the BMIS number of your company at the Deutsche Bahn AG
  • The (external) HTTP destination for certification through the ICF
  • Logon data for accessing the rail system booking data (BIBE results interface) via XI
  • Logon data for certification before accessing the portal (certified access to BIBE portal) via ICF
  • Indicator for specifying whether access to the BIBE portal should be live access or test access

The necessary data can be obtained from your contact person at the Deutsche Bahn.
