If you are connected to the reservation system of Amadeus Global Travel Distribution, your travel plans and travel requests in Travel Planning can include train trips in addition to flights, hotels, and car rentals.

For this feature you need an API interface.

In the Customizing activity Define Access Parameters for Deutsche Bahn Through Amadeus API you configure the parameters for access to the information and reservation system of the Deutsche Bahn AG. You control the access parameters for each technical access group (see IMG activities Define Groups for Access to External Reservation Systems and Assign Groups for Access to External Reservation Systems).
Note that only one of the following accesses to the Deutsche Bahn is possible for each access group:

  • Access to Deutsche Bahn through Amadeus API
  • Access to Deutsche Bahn through the BIBE portal

You need the following information to access the Deutsche Bahn through Amadeus API:

  • Parameters required for access from the SAP system to the global reservation system AMADEUS:
    • Company indicator of your company
    • Organizational indicator of your company
    • Identification code for the Amadeus interface
  • Parameters that manage the interface between SAP system, START, and the system of the Deutsche Bahn:
    • START identification code of the travel center or travel agency (START ID)
    • Number of the START sales office used for ticketing (Sales Office ID)

Activities

To configure the access parameters for Deutsche Bahn, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. Enter the technical access group that is to use the access parameter.
  3. Enter the above-mentioned identification codes. Except for the DB customer number, all fields require entries.
  4. Save your entries.
