In this activity, you determine the data scope that is transmitted from mySAP Business Packages (Portals)from the area of mySAP Product Lifecycle Management for a particular User Group to the WEB Frontend.
The following mySAP Business Packages transmit the data:
- mySAP Business Package for Products
- mySAP Business Package for Assets
- mySAP Business Package for Projects
Example
So that the WEB Frontend of a draftsman only shows the data which he needs for his particular task, you create a user group ENGINEER. Assign exactly those functions that determine the necessary object data, such as document data, to this user group. beispielsweise Dokumentdaten.

Activities
For each user group you must make the following setting:
- Select New Entries. This takes you to the detail screen.
- Create the user group, for whom you want to restrict the data (for example, ENGINEER).
- Select the function that determines the desired object data.
- Enter a counter if you want to create several functions for the user group.
The system determines the description of the function.
Further notes
The assignment of a user to a user group (for example, ENGINEER) takes place in the user master record (Parameter PLM_USERGROUP).
