Requirements

Standard settings

Activities

Hit list settings

  • Select default hit list

When displaying from the screen of the application document, you can choose from several display variants.

    • Display documents directly
    • The documents are displayed directly in the Document Viewer without displaying a hit list.
    • Simple hit list (standard setting):
    • Hit list of the Generic Object Services. You can double-click to go directly to the Generic Object Services.
    • Structured hit list:
    • Business Document Navigator
    • Technical hit list:
    • ABAP List Viewer hit list
  • Maximum number of documents

The number you enter here only refers to the technical search in the administration transaction Document Administration. The number of hits is limited to this value.

Display settings

  • Windows Viewer settings
    • Use ECL control
    • If you set this flag, ECL control is activated for displaying documents in the Document Viewer, in addition to HTML control (which is the default setting). ECL control can display documents in TIF and FAX formats, and is supplied by SAP.
  • Activate Generic Object Services in the Viewer

If you set this flag, the Toolbox of the Generic Object Services is available in the Document Viewer. The functions relate to the business object to which the current document is linked.

  • Use own HTML page in Viewer

If you set this flag, you define your own HTML page that can be used for displaying documents. You need to maintain this page in the table TOAJAVA.

Caution: This is a prototype development and should not be used without the express permission of SAP development.

Normal; You can use this to determine whether documents are displayed in a dialog box container (if the indicator is activated).

  • Document display as dialog box

If documents are displayed in the dialog box container, the Viewer is automatically closed when the user exits the transaction. If documents are not displayed in the dialog box container, they are displayed in a separate window independently of the calling transaction. You can overwrite this setting for individual users using the Set/Get parameter 'ARCHIVELINKDIALOG'. Possible values are:

    • VIEWER:
    • Display in separate independent viewer window
    • DIALOGBOX:
    • Display in dialog box container
  • Deactivate data provider cache

If you set this indicator, the URL of the displayed document is not temporarily stored in the cache on the SAP application server.

Storage settings

  • Always copy document class from document type

If you set this flag, the document class is entered that is defined for the document type in customizing.

If you do not set the flag, the system follows a new procedure: When linking the document and the business object, the document class of the document is determined using a check. The value determined is entered in the link entry. This setting enables you to assign documents of different document classes to one document type. The system then always calls the corresponding display program.

  • Drag&Drop: Number of files before warning

The number entered here is used when entering documents by the Drag&Drop method. If the number of files selected using Drag&Drop exceeds the value specified here, a warning appears.
