In this IMG activity you define templates for the Payoff function for each company code and product type.

Depending on the loan product type, a template contains specific control instructions for the business operation, such as details of the repayment calculation, the payment method, or the communication status. In this way you can use a template to control and group certain payoff cases for a loan, such as a full payoff or a partial payoff.

The templates you define here are then available for selection when you create a payoff in the Workplace for Business Operations. You can also change the default values set for the fields in the template in the workplace.

Example

Possible templates for the product types listed are:

  • Mortgage loans
    • Full payoff
    • Partial payoff with shortened term
    • Partial payoff with same term
  • Installment loans
    • Full payoff

Activities

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. Enter a company code, the product type and a template ID and choose Execute.

Note: The system displays a selection of fields for which you can make entries, depending on the product type.

  3. Enter a description for the template. You can select the short name you enter in the Short Text field in the template, when you create a payoff in the application.
  4. Select a flow type that fulfills the following criteria:
    • In the IMG activity Define Flow Types you need to have defined the flow category SERP Payoff and the calculation category SS Outflow (generic) for the flow type. The activity category must be 0048 Payoff Debit.
    • In the IMG activity Define Condition Groups you need to have assigned the flow type to the application function 400 Payoff Flows in the Assign Flow Type to Condition Group per Application view.
    • If you set the payment transaction ID to 0 Customer account not posted or 1 Customer account posted, this setting appears on the Administration Data tab page in the Payoff function, but cannot be changed there.
If you set the indicator to 2: Both possible (customer account posted/not posted) , you can change the setting on the Administration Data tab page.
  5. Choose the Net Procedure. When a loan is paid of fully, the system determines the gross payoff amount for the receivables list.

Note: The Gross Procedure is not supported.

  6. If you select the Full Payoff field, the system generates a full payoff when a payoff is created with this template. The system enters the available capital as a proposal for the net payoff amount. The available capital represents the maximum payoff amount.

Note: A full payoff can only be made if the planned capital corresponds to the available capital. If the planned capital amount is greater than the available capital, (as a result of a capital transfer for example), the system automatically generates a partial payoff.

In loans with a product category Installment Loans you can only create full payoffs.

  7. If you select the Partial Waiver field, the system enters a partial waiver for the outstanding disbursement obligation on the Detailed Data tab when you create a payoff in the application. You can change the proposed waiver amount on the tab page. When you activate or post the payoff, the system creates the waiver for the amount specified as at the payoff due date. If the borrower decides on a capital reduction before the payoff has been fully negotiated (that is, before a contract has been signed), you must enter the capital reduction using the Withdraw or Reduce function. In this case, you cannot generate the capital reduction using the Payoff function.

Note: In the IMG activity Define Condition Groups you need to assign the condition type required for a waiver generated in connection with a payoff in the Assign Condition Type to Condition Groups view. You also have to assign the condition type for the partial waiver to the flow category KAMI in the IMG activity Define Condition Types.

  8. If you select the Repayment Settlement field, when you create a payoff the system proposes the settlement of a repayment that has not been paid by the due date of the payoff on the Detailed Data tab page. This reduces the interest calculation capital on the payoff due date rather than later.

Note: This field is only relevant for partial payoffs.

  9. The repayment change indicator is also only relevant for partial payoffs. When you create a payoff the system sets this indicator on the Detailed Data tab page automatically, but you can change the indicator on the tab page. You use this indicator to determine how the conditions are changed as a result of the payoff.
  10. By selecting the fields Overdue Items or Credit Balance, you have the option of including the existing overdue items and credit balance for the loan in the receivables list automatically when you create the payoff. You can change the default settings on the Open Items tab page.
  11. If you select the Regular payments indicator, routine payments that have the same due date as the payoff payment date (such as repayments) are included in the receivables list. You can change the default settings on the Detailed Data tab page.
  12. If you set the Inclusive indicator, the system includes the payoff due date in the interest calculation, which means that the payoff only reduces the interest calculation capital after the payoff due date. If this indicator is not set, the payoff reduces the interest calculation capital as at the payoff due date.
  13. If you set the Month-End indicator, the system assumes that the payoff due date is the end of the month when it calculates the cash flow.

Note: The effect of this setting also depends on the settings for the inclusive indicator and the interest calculation method.

  14. Select a Factory Calendar for shifting the payoff payment date to a working day. The calendar you select here is displayed on the Detailed Data tab, where you can change it if necessary. .
  15. Define a Payment Method.. You can also change the default payment method on the Administration Data tab page.
  16. Note: You can set a default payment method for the costs and charge flows entered manually on the Other Flows tab page in the activity Set Default Values for Dunning Block and Payment Method. You can also change these values on the respective screen in the application.
  17. If you set a payment lock, the system sets this lock in the contract automatically when you activate or post the payoff. (The lock appears as the default setting in the field Incoming Payment Distribution Lock in the Administration Data tab page, where you can change it if necessary.) The system posts incoming payments to the contract as overpayments, if the payments cannot be posted to any other loans in the same incoming payment distribution level.

Note: In subsequent releases the indicator may be reset automatically. At present you must reset the indicator in the contract manually, except when you delete or reverse the payoff.

  18. If you select the Exclude from Dunning field, the loan is excluded from the dunning run. This indicator also appears as a default setting on the Administration Data tab page where you can change it if necessary.

Note: If you do not want to exclude the entire loan from the dunning run, you can exclude individual flow types from the dunning run and the calculation of dunning interest in the activity Exclude Flow Types from Dunning Run. If you want to exclude additional flows from the dunning run, you need to set a dunning lock for these flows in the activity Set Default Values for Dunning Lock and Payment Method.

You can also use the Dunning Lock indicator to exclude all of the documents generated by a payoff from the dunning run and from the dunning interest calculation. If you do not set this indicator, you can use the Dunning Area indicator to organize the dunning procedure for the documents generated by the payoff. This indicator also appears as a default setting on the Administration Data tab page where you can change it if necessary.

Note: You define the dunning lock and the dunning area in the Customizing for Financial Accounting.

  19. Use the Posting Control key to determine whether the planned records generated by the payoff are to be posted automatically or manually when you activate the payoff. If you leave the field blank, the planned records can only be posted automatically.

Note: The settings for the posting control key in the
