In this step, you maintain the statuses used in infotype Global Assignment Status (0715) to streamline the global assignment process according to home or host HR department.

Example

Requirements

No preliminary steps required.

Standard settings

The SAP system is shipped with a set of sample entries, as described below. You can create new assignment statuses to meet your company-specific needs only within the customer name space definition. For more information, see also the activity Define Assignment Types.

  • Planned
The assignment process has not been triggered yet but is planned.
  • Submitted
The terms and conditions of the assignment have been submitted for approval to the responsible manager; the process has not been triggered yet.
  • Approved
The transfer has been approved by the responsible managers. The responsible manager can, however, reject the assignment if the compensation package exceeds the allocated budget.
  • Declined by Manager
The assignment offer has been rejected by the host line manager.
  • Accepted
The terms and conditions of the assignment have been accepted by the candidate.
  • Declined by Employee
The assignment offer has been rejected by the candidate.
  • To Be Activated
Once all the necessary relocation and assignment information has been gathered and stored in the relevant infotypes, and the involved parties have decided to start the assignment, the assignment must be activated. This status is mandatory and is used to trigger the assignment activation by means of the relevant personnel action (82 for host and 83 for home activation, respectively).
  • In Progress
The assignment is currently being handled by one of the HR administrators involved in the transfer process.
  • Completed
Subsequent to the activation of the assignment; at this stage, the assignment is considered as rounded off.

Recommendation

Check your company-specific processes and make a list of all possible statuses.

Activities

You can either copy an existing status or create a new one according to your requirements. For each status, you can specify whether a candidate is still taken into consideration for the global assignment or not.

To copy an existing assignment:

  1. Select an existing record.
  2. Click Copy.
  3. Change the 2-digit key and the description.
  4. Save your entries.

To create a new assignment:

  1. Click New entries.
  2. Enter a new key and a description.
  3. Save your entries.
