Use

In this step, you maintain the country-independent base compensation package items necessary for your offer(s) and used in infotype Compensation Package Offer (0706).

Base CPIs refer to the main gross or net payments included in the compensation package offer, such as gross and net salary or net spendable in host. They can be:

  • Either derived from the employee's home infotypes, such as basic pay, recurring payments and deductions, additional payments or customer-specific infotypes.
  • Or created from scratch when no information is available,
  • Or derived from other CPIs.

Requirements

You must have completed the following activities:

Define Compensation Package Items

Define Evaluation Methods

Business Add-In for Base CPI Calculation if a new method is needed.

Standard settings

The SAP system is shipped with a set of model entries linked to the applicable evaluation method and frequency of payment (usually annually). You can copy existing base CPIs or create new ones to meet your company-specific needs.

  • Base Salary
  • Base Net Home
  • Net spendable Home
  • Net spendable Host
  • COLA Host
  • Net Host pay

Activities

  1. Click New entries.
  2. Select a generic CPI and delimit it.
  3. Select the applicable evaluation method. For base salary components, you could use evaluation method SUM(mation). Likewise, you could use evaluation method MULT(iply) for the calculation of the cost-of-living allowance.
  4. Select the applicable frequency of payment.
  5. Save your entries.
