Use
In this Customizing activity, you can define the back-end systems that provide self-services and select the active processes that you want to display on the internal self-services (ISS) home page. This information is used by the system:
- To filter the entries available on the ISS home page (see below) based on the specified back-end system
- To determine the system alias if a self-service is launched from the ISS home page
- To provide input help (F4 help) for the back-end systems
If you want to use the self-services delivered with the business function Internal Self-Services for Financials (FIN_SSC_ISS_1), you need to consider some specefic settings for the process types delivered with this business function. For more information see Customizing for Internal Self-Services for Financials under Service Map Integration in the ERP or CRM system where the business function is switched on.
Requirements
Prerequistes for the integration of a remote SAP system:
- You have defined the remote SAP system as RFC destination, see Define RFC Destinations. The RFC destination must be set up as a trusted system.
- You have defined a logical system.
- You have assigned the RFC destination to the logical system, see Assign RFC Destinations to Logical Systems.
Before you can complete this Customizing activity, you need to complete the Customizing activity Define Self-Service Process Types.
Standard settings
Activities
This setting is used to filter the self-services which are assigned to the ISS home page for the system the user selects on the home page. You need to select the processes that are available for each back-end system. You complete the activity on a number of levels. The general logic and process is described below:
- Self-Services System Definition
First, you need to define the self-services systems. The self-services systems are the connected application systems where the changes made using a self-service are finally executed in the back-end.
You need to specify the systems that provide the self-service solutions. If you enter the logical system, the available self-service process types will be read from the assigned RFC destination.
- Active Process
After you define the self-service systems, you select the self-service processes that are available for each self-service process type. These are the self-services that will be available to the self-service users.
- Connected Backend Systems
This node is only relevant if you are using multiple backend systems for a self-service process type. For example if you are using the process type MDG and you have more than one back-end system where MDG-based processes are executed, you need to enter the systems here.
The Process Type System field displays the system where the self-services solution is installed, the self-services hub system.
- Active Processes in the Backend System
Again, this node is only relevant if a self-service process type, such as MDG, integrates multiple back-end systems. You need to select the self-service processes that are available for the selected process type.
The changes made by these self-service processes are executed in the system displayed in the Backend System field. The system where the process type is defined is displayed in the Process Type field.
