In this step, you define the possible substitution types that can be used when you specify substitute carriers.

The key for a substitution type contains a descriptive text and the information whether or not a substitution based on this type is relevant for settlement.

If you substitute the main carrier with another carrier when maintaining a delivery round, you must also specify the substitution type. This indicates the reason for the substitution and whether or not it is relevant for settlement.

Example

The substitution type might indicate that the substitution took place due to the main carrier being on holiday and that it is relevant for settlement.

Activities

  1. Check which substitution types are relevant for carrier substitution.
  2. To create the required carrier substitution types, please proceed as follows:
    • Specify an alphanumeric key of up to 2 characters for each carrier substitution type.
    • Mark the substitution type as relevant for settlement if applicable.
    • Enter the short text. This is displayed as the description of the key when maintaining the delivery round once the substitution is saved.
    • Enter the long text for the possible entries utility (F4).
