In this step, you define the sales sources that can lead to purchase agreements.

You use the sales source to specify whether the new subscription order item came into being through a reader, a sales agent or through the subscriber's own initiative. You must specify the sales source each time you create a subscription order item.

You assign the possible gifts or commission recipients to the sales source and restrict their validity to one or more events in the campaign framework. For example, a campaign framework (and with it the corresponding sales source) can be valid for the events "Restart" and "Change payment method".

Activities

  1. Check which sales sources your company uses.
  2. If you need to create new sales sources, please proceed as follows:
    1. Sales source (SSce)
    2. Specify an alphanumeric key of up to 4 characters for the sales source.
    3. Success research (Rs)
    4. Select this indicator if you want the system to trigger success research when a new order item is created.
    5. Sales agent/reader (AR)
    6. Select this indicator if the sales agent who obtains the order item must also be a reader of the publication.
    7. Sales agent required (Ag)
    8. Select this indicator if a sales agent must be specified in the order.
    9. Campaign framework required (CF)
    10. Select this indicator if a campaign framework must be specified in the order.
    11. Bonus type (BT)
    12. Define the type of bonus awarded for obtaining a subscription for the sales source in question.
      Note: You must select the indicators 'Campaign framework required' and 'Sales agent required' for the bonus type 'Commission' since the type of commission and the commission recipient are defined in the campaign framework.
    13. Short text and long text
    14. Enter a short and long text as descriptions of the sales source.
