In this step, you create computer centers with which data exchange takes place. You define parameters for each computer center that play a role in data exchange. (The parameters for printed output of accompanying documents for the data carrier are defined in the general WBZ data.)

  • Business partner

In this field, you specify the business partner number under which the data on the computer center is recorded. Every computer center created here must always be created as a general business partner. This means that the address of each computer center can be used for correspondence.

  • Character set

You specify the SAP character set to control conversion of the record being imported to the internal SAP character set or conversion from internal character display to the character set used by the computer center.

If you do not enter a character set, conversion does not take place.

  • Separators in name

The first and last names are divided by a separator. Here, you specify how the character placed in the record is to be transported to your system.

Note: Since this separator is a special character, conversions that were not requested may take place during data transport from one system to the other.

  • Communication type

Controls how this computer center processes data exchange (e.g. data carrier, telebox). The specification as to whether or not a WBZ company reports its data via a computer center is determined from the assignment of the computer center. If data exchange takes place via telebox, you can place header and trailer data in the confirmation file using enhancement JKWBZ003 when the file is being created (report RJKWBZ02).

  • Conversion of address data

Records from computer centers generally only contain upper case letters and no 'umlauts'. If you select this indicator, the data imported is converted to upper and lower case and the combinations 'AE', 'OE' and 'UE' are converted to umlauts. When records are created for a computer center, conversion takes place in the opposite direction.

If this indicator is not selected, the data is transferred unchanged.

  • Correct street

If you select this indicator, the spelling of street names is also corrected according to the street directory for postal shipping (delivery type 'post').

If you do not select the indicator, corrections are only made for delivery types that are not for postal shipping.

  • Short street name

This indicator allows you to determine that the computer center uses exactly the same street short text as the postal service in the records. If the indicator is selected, the System uses this short text to search for the street in IS-M when an address is created. This means that a correction notification is not sent to the WBZ computer center if the text is corrected automatically (short text -> long text). The short text for the street is used in all messages to the computer center.
You may need to define a suitable index on field STR_NAME_K in table JSTSTRPRO so that the search for the correct street can be performed properly.
If computer centers do not use the same spelling as is used in the postal service's street file, this can be taken into account using enhancement JKWBZ002.

Activities

To create computer centers with which your company exchanges data, please proceed as follows:

  1. Specify an alphanumeric key of up to 2 characters for each computer center.
  2. Enter a descriptive text for the computer center.
  3. Specify the business partner number of the computer center (the computer center must be created as a general business partner).
  4. If you want character set conversion to take place during data transfer, enter the key of the relevant SAP character set.
  5. Enter the separator to be placed between the first and last name.
  6. If you want to convert address data (upper/lower case etc.), select the indicator Convert address data.
  7. If you also want to convert address data for postal shipping, select the indicator 'Correct street'.
  8. If you want the computer center to use exactly the same street short text as is used by the postal service in its records, select the indicator Short street name.
