In this step, you define the research types that can be used in Media Sales and Distribution.

You must specify the research type when creating a research. You can create research in the following work areas:

Work area    Research type

Sales (order)    Success research

    Failure research

    Insert research

    Carrier route research (home delivery)

    Distribution research, insert research

Billing    Bank returns research

Activities

  1. Find out which research types are required in your company.
  2. To create new research types, please proceed as follows:
    • ResTyp (research type)
      • Specify an alphanumeric key of up to 2 characters for each research type.
    • Description
      • Enter the appropriate text.
    • NRInt (internal number range interval)
      • Specify the key of the number range interval used for internal number assignment (see Definition of Number Range for Research).
    • Select the appropriate indicator for the usage of the research type. The following are possible:
      • SO Order success research
      OF Order failure research
      DD Distribution research for ad pre-print zone
      HD Carrier route research
      In Insert research
      BR Bank returns research
    • Out.pr (output determination procedure)
      • Specify the output determination procedure for the research type. This groups all output generated during research processing.
    • MR (send mail when restart research)
      • Select this indicator if a mail is to be generated (by output control) when a research is created.
    • CM (send mail on completion)
      • Select this indicator if a mail is to be generated when a research is completed.
